About NY Path To Better Health
Phyllis Shustak is the founder of  NY Path To Better Health, a private health counseling business
located in Westchester County, New York. Phyllis has geared her practice towards counseling both
busy professionals and overworked moms in reducing stress in their lives as well as weight management
and food preparation. She has also dedicated a portion of her practice to counseling both pre type 2 and type 2 diabetic children, teen, and adults as well as those with celiac disease and food sensitivities.
Phyllis counsels her corporate clientèle exclusively by telephone and has found this to be the most effective vehicle for both the busy professional and herself. She begins her daily appointments at 7 am to accommodate the working individual's busy schedule.
About Phyllis Shustak
Phyllis, her husband and two teenage children reside in Westchester County, New York. Having grown up with many food sensitivities and asthma coupled with the desire to lead a healthier lifestyle Phyllis began to examine the relationship between food and how it made one feel both emotionally and physically. She soon realized there was a direct correlation between the food we ate,our mood as well as our energy level. Having made this connection Phyllis through a holistic approach was able to diminish all of the symptoms she was experiencing related to her own food sensitivities as well as her asthma symptoms.
Through this program Phyllis has been trained in both eastern and western dietary theories which include the ancient traditions of macrobiotics, ayurveda and Chinese medicine in addition to modern dietary theories like the USDA Healthy Eating Pyramid, the Zone, and the South Beach Diet.
Her approach with her clients is one of bio individuality meaning there is no one theory for everyone but it is the combination of many theories based on listening to how each individual's body reacts to different foods that will be the key to achieving a healthy lifestyle.
Phyllis has geared her practice toward counseling overweight and pre type 2 diabetic children in addition to busy professionals and overworked moms. She focuses on stress reduction in their lives as well as weight management, food preparation and shopping tips. She designs each individual's program to meet their unique health goals. Phyllis uses a holistic approach in assessing her client's needs and through a complete evaluation including all aspects of their lifestyle and current health concerns determines their best program for success. This is accomplished through modifications in food, exercise and other lifestyles components.

"I am so happy now. My wife and eight year old daughter are reaping the benefits of the education Phyllis has given me. I look forward to meeting every other week to learn more about what my body needs. I can't express what this experience is doing for me. I am now to the point where I make healthy decisions without even thinking about it. I have lost over 40 pounds!"
